Mia's Story...
Mia was born in a Women's hospital in Kansas City, Kansas on Feb. 1st, 2009. Mia's Mother had broken up with Mia's Father just 4 weeks before Mia came into the world. So now, Mia's Mom was left to raise herself & a baby all alone & by herself. Mia's Father, Doug, Had lied to Mia's Mother, Genieva, About wanting kids since the 2nd date, and eventually confessed about not wanting children.
Mia and Genieva went home 2 days after she was born. Their apartment wasn't much, only a couch, coffee table, & small TV were in the living room, and the dining room & kitchen were no where near updated or sanitary, and the bedroom where Mia & her mother slept was more like a pile of clothes. However, the Bathroom was the worst. Spiders, clogged drains, non-flushing toilet, dried toothpaste counter, messy band-aid filled medicine cabinets.
Yep, Mia & Genieva's house was a huge dump, and for the 1st 2 1/2 months of her life, Mia had to live there. Eventually, one early Monday morning while Genieva was getting dressed for work and while Mia was happilly gurgurling in her crib, Geniva heard the front door open. She Looked down the steps, when she saw a tall, african american man in a grey hoodie, baggy pants, and tennis shoes walk in. Genieva Runs into her & Mia's room & locks the door. She dresses Mia in a nice pink dress and swaddles her in a pink blanket and places her in a small box, which she slowly slides down in a bundle of sheets from the 2nd story window.
4 days later, Genieva is found dead in her bedroom.
That same day, The Police find the box.
No Baby Mia.
2 weeks later, Mia is found in an abandoned home almost 265 miles away with a poor couple and 8 other rescued children from across the surrounding states. All 8 children were put in foster care, and Mia was sent to her Grandparents in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mia's Grandparents raised her until she was 3 1/2 months, When her Grandmother fell down the steps, carrying Mia in her arms. Mia's Grandmother Died 2 days after the fall, and her Grandfather would eventaully die about 3 weeks later from a very serious stroke.
Mia was then placed for adoption at the Children's Home, and eventually, her story touched Emily's heart, and she was prompted to go and adopt Mia.
So Now, Mia is living with Emily Grimes, and almost 2, living an amazing life with her brothers & sisters
